Mike Hopkins Winter Update and Video

It's the middle of February and summer feels as though it is lurking around the corner, actually now that I think of it, Summer is the farthest thing from my current situation. Around the corner lies mass amounts of snow, and not just snow, a very inconvenient wall of it.

At this current moment I am posted up in my frigid truck amidst a long line of vehicles that stretches farther than I can see in either direction. This isn't rush hour traffic, if it were I would be stoked, at-least some headway would be made, but this accumulation of fellow travelers is at a stand still. All of five minutes ago I was informed by a pair of florescent clad characters that a rather large avalanche had chosen the road as a suitable location to settle down and the route ahead would be closed for the next 3-4 hours. So here I sit, stuck in my mode of transport, 90km past Revelstoke on route to Golden, in the land of Rogers Pass. So I figured, with four hours to burn, why not fill you fine folks in on my Winter antics.

As some of you may know, my winters are spent much like my summers (traveling, filming, shooting stills, having a smashing good time!), only aboard skis rather than the aluminum steed. This winter has actually been busier than most. My ski sponsors have been keeping a watchful eye on my bike career and when it came to laying out projects for the season, we threw around the idea of doing a web series of sorts. Looking back on the success of this past Summer's web based projects, we saw it fitting to carry the trend into the winter months. I won't get into the details, instead I will let you guys have a look for yourselves. Here is an edit Dave Peacock and I put together last week during a brief stint at Revelstoke Resort. If you like it then keep your eyes open for more, as this is the first of many. Giddy Up!

-Cheers Mike
